On 16 August 2026, the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham) hosted a luncheon titled โ€œBuilding Investorsโ€™ Confidence: From Policy Reform to Effective Implementationโ€ at the InterContinental Dhaka. The event brought together Senior government officials, policymakers, business leaders, investors, and AmCham members for a constructive dialogue on strengthening Bangladeshโ€™s investment climate and translating policy reforms into greater investor confidence and investment.

 

AmCham President Mr. Syed Mohammad Kamal highlighted the potential to deepen U.S. investment in Bangladesh, emphasizing that effective and consistent implementation of policy reforms is essential to converting the countryโ€™s strong fundamentals into sustained investor confidence and new investment.

Mr. Md. Mahbub ur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of HSBC, highlighted that investor confidence is built on stability, security, and predictability, while emphasizing that stronger trade facilitation can help unlock greater investment.

The Honโ€™ble Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury MP, reaffirmed the Governmentโ€™s commitment to creating a more business-friendly environment through deregulation, tax reform and automation, and more efficient trade processes. He stressed that policy predictability and consistency are essential to strengthening investor confidence and supporting sustainable investment.

The luncheon concluded with an engaging interactive Q&A session, moderated by AmCham President Mr. Syed Mohammad Kamal, providing members of the business community an opportunity to exchange views with the Honorable Finance Minister on Bangladeshโ€™s economic outlook and key policy priorities.
