AmCham at 30: Honoring the Legacy, Celebrating the Journey, Accelerating Tomorrow

AmCham Bangladesh celebrated its 30th Anniversary on September 12, 2026, uniting current and former AmCham leadership, members, Government leaders, diplomats, business leaders, and distinguished guests for an evening celebrating three decades of strengthening the Bangladesh–U.S. economic partnership.
    

Reflecting on the journey, AmCham President 𝗠𝗿. 𝗦𝘆𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗱 𝗞𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗹 paid tribute to the visionaries and leaders who shaped the Chamber’s legacy, while setting his sights firmly on the future. He underscored key priorities for the road ahead—energy security, an enabling investment climate, intellectual property rights, cybersecurity, regulatory reform, and deeper Government–private sector collaboration.

The evening also marked the announcement of the 𝗔𝗺𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 by 𝗠𝗿. 𝗔𝗹𝗮 𝗨𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗵𝗺𝗮𝗱, Vice President of AmCham and CEO of 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 Bangladesh—a new recognition celebrating outstanding contributions across sectors.

Speaking as Special Guest, 𝗛.𝗘. 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗧. 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗻, U.S. Ambassador to Bangladesh, congratulated AmCham on 30 years of advancing U.S.–Bangladesh commercial ties. Noting AmCham’s role as a reliable partner to the U.S. Government over the past 30 years, he expressed confidence that, as Bangladesh delivers on its commitments under the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade, the partnership will see even more positive outcomes in the next 30 years and beyond.

Chief Guest 𝗠𝗿. 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗿 𝗔𝗯𝗱𝘂𝗹 𝗠𝘂𝗸𝘁𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗿, 𝗠𝗣, Hon’ble Minister of Commerce, Minister of Industries, and Minister of Textiles and Jute, reaffirmed the Government’s support for AmCham’s ambition to facilitate an additional 𝗨𝗦$𝟱 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 in American investment over the next five years. He stressed the importance of an investment-friendly regulatory environment, while recognizing AmCham’s increasingly active role in policy advocacy and as a bridge between Government and the private sector.

At the heart of the celebration was a tribute to AmCham’s founders, former Presidents, former Executive Committee members, former U.S. Ambassadors, and members whose vision, leadership, and partnership have shaped its 30-year legacy.

The evening culminated in “𝟯𝟬 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝟯𝟬 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆,” a spectacular musical showcase by 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗡𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗳𝗲𝗲—a fitting finale to a milestone evening.
