AmCham Bangladesh Calls on BIDA

A delegation team from the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham) called on Mr. Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun, Executive Chairman of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), at its office on 30 July 2026.
AmCham was represented by President Mr. Syed Mohammad Kamal, joined by Executive Committee Members Mr. Habib Bhuiyan and Mr. Mohammad Sazzad Hossain, and Executive Director Mr. Chowdhury Kaiser Mohammad Riyadh. Senior officials of BIDA were also present.

A wide range of issues came up during the meeting. AmCham shared how it can contribute to branding Bangladesh as a competitive investment destination and outlined practical pathways to resolve member company issues and further ease the business environment. Both sides also explored deeper BIDA–AmCham collaboration to expand investment opportunities and attract quality FDI. The upcoming 30th U.S. Trade Show, which marks three decades of AmCham’s flagship platform for U.S.–Bangladesh economic partnership, also featured in the conversation, alongside 30 years of AmCham Bangladesh and the Chamber’s evolving role in the country’s investment landscape.

Several other matters of mutual interest were discussed, and the meeting concluded on a highly positive note, with both sides agreeing to maintain regular engagement and carry the conversation forward through continued cooperation.
