On 17 September 2007, AmCham President Syed Ershad Ahmed handed over a cheque to Dr. Alejandro Cravioto, then Executive Director, International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b), to support treatment services aimed at strengthening the medical response for financially vulnerable populations affected by flooding.
The cheque was received on behalf of ICDDR,B by Dr. Alejandro Cravioto. Ishtiaque Zaman, External Relations and Institutional Development Officer, ICDDR,B, and A. Gafur, Executive Director, AmCham Bangladesh, were also present at the handover ceremony. The initiative contributed to ongoing efforts to address water-borne diseases and protect public health during the emergency period.
The support was formally conveyed through AmCham’s leadership, reflecting the Chamber’s commitment to responsible corporate citizenship and collaboration with national health institutions during times of crisis.
