AmCham Engages with Commerce Ministry to Discuss Trade Organization Act 2022 and Rules 2025

The American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham) held a policy advocacy meeting with Mr. Mahbubur Rahman, Commerce Secretary, at the Ministry of Commerce on October 5, 2025, to discuss the Trade Organization Act 2022 and the Trade Organization Rules 2025. The AmCham delegation was led by Mr. Syed Ershad Ahmed, President, AmCham Bangladesh, and included Ms. Rubaba Dowla, Executive Committee Member, AmCham Bangladesh & Country Managing Director, Oracle Corporation (Bangladesh, Nepal & Bhutan); Mr. Syed Mohammad Kamal, Member, AmCham Research and Policy Advocacy Subcommittee & Country Manager, MasterCard; and Mr. Chowdhury Kaiser Mohammad Riyadh, Executive Director, AmCham Secretariat. Mr. Mohammed Rehan Uddin, Director General (Joint Secretary), DTO Wing, Ministry of Commerce was also present at the meeting.

AmCham expressed its strong commitment to continuing its unique role as the premier platform for promoting U.S. and global investments in Bangladesh and to working closely with the Ministry in advancing a more enabling trade and business environment.
