The American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham) held a focus group discussion for the current research project on “Development of Labor Condition in Bangladesh to Sustainable Growth” led by Prof. Dr. Md. Mamun Habib, Professor, School of Business and Entrepreneurship, Independent University, Bangladesh and visiting Scientist, University of Texas -Arlington (UTA), USA.

AmCham President – Mr. Syed Ershad Ahmed, Vice President – Mr. Syed Mohammad Kamal, few members of the Chamber including the Executive Committee Members attended the group discussion that aimed to review the existing labor law and promote understanding to ensure that the EU and USA accept the progress of labor conditions in Bangladesh.

AmCham President, Mr. Syed Ershad Ahmed, chaired the program. At the beginning of the discussion, Prof. Mamun shared an overview of this research. Then, the participants gave their valuable insights on existing practices on employee benefits, e.g., minimum wages, leave policy, and insurance and shared their recommendation on Sustainable Growth in the development of labor conditions in Bangladesh.
