In response to the widespread humanitarian needs following caused by the monsoon flooding in 2007, the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham) launched a humanitarian assistance initiative to support affected communities, particularly infants and young children. As part of this effort, Syed Ershad Ahmed, then President of AmCham, along with members of the AmCham Executive Committee, formally handed over baby food supplies to the leaders of the Rotary Club of Dhaka Central (District 3280) for onward distribution in the flood-affected areas.

The initiative was carried out in close collaboration with Rotary leaders to ensure the timely and effective delivery of essential nutritional support to vulnerable families. This humanitarian engagement reflects AmCham’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and its continued partnership with civic organizations in responding to national emergencies and community needs.
