AmCham Policy Advocacy Meeting with the Deputy Governor, Bangladesh Bank

An AmCham delegation, led by Executive Committee Member Ms. Rubaba Dowla, Country Managing Director for Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan at Oracle Bangladesh Limited, held a meeting

with Mr. Md. Zakir Hossain Chowdhury, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank, on April 27, 2025.

During the meeting, the AmCham team discussed a few business challenges that the Bangladesh Bank could address to foster a trade and investment climate. They also highlighted the importance of regulating policies to promote cashless transactions. The Deputy Governor assured that they would review and consider the points raised. He also thanked AmCham for its continued commitment and support in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) and in shaping stronger bilateral ties with the U.S.

In addition to Ms. Rubaba Dowla, the visiting team featured Mr. Sabbir Ahmed, Country Manager for Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan at VISA Worldwide Singapore Pte. Limited; Mr. Sazzad Hossain, General Manager of Paxar Bangladesh Ltd.; and Mr. Chowdhury Kaiser Mohammad Riyadh, Executive Director of AmCham.
