AmCham Bangladesh, in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy, convened a high-level Focus Group Discussion on “Bangladesh’s Healthcare & Pharma Outlook: Strategic Challenges and Emerging Prospects” with leaders from the country’s healthcare, pharmaceutical, and public health ecosystem at the EMK Center, Gulshan.
The discussion explored critical issues shaping Bangladesh’s health sector—rising regulatory and compliance challenges, gaps in medical technology integration, barriers to quality healthcare delivery, and the need for stronger investment incentives to support innovation, manufacturing capacity, and patient-centric service models. Participants also highlighted opportunities for U.S.–Bangladesh collaboration in medical devices, digital health, R&D, and public health strengthening.
Senior representatives from the U.S. Embassy, along with officials from representatives from key healthcare and pharmaceutical companies like Medtronic Bangladesh Pvt. Ltd., Labaid Cancer Hospital & Super Speciality Centre, MGH Healthcare Limited, Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Renata Ltd., Praava Health, CDC, Square Pharmaceuticals PLC, Eskayef Pharmaceuticals, GE Healthcare, ICDDR, Jhpiego, LEAP, PwC, and Galaxy Health Service Ltd, contributed valuable insights on policy gaps, investment climate considerations, and the sector’s long-term growth prospects.
